My car died on the way home last night :(

I was at the stoplight and I saw the battery light come on, and I was like what the heck so I tried to restart the car and it wouldn't turn over. Good thing I have BCAA... my car is a 1991 vw passat.

Sounds like your alternator. Shouldn't be too expensive to repair. Probably need a new battery also.

J/K. It's a 91, so your alternator probably just died. Every car usually goes through at least one of those in its life. Just don't get the absolute cheapest replacement part out there, and you'll probably never need to worry about it again.
