In continuation to this thread

Went to the mechanic and he said that even though he cleaned the EGR valve the NO levels are still not going down. He said something that he will use a trick to use a larger valve from the EGR back to the cyliner block, so the NO levels can go down (max is 430. I had 470). I drove the car around, so that the ECU could "relearn" everything. Car was very sensitive to accelerator in 1st and 2nd. Didn't like it very much. At the second day I get a check engine light *GREAT*. Now the ECU is throwing a code saying that the knock sensor is bad.
The knock sensor was fine the first time I did my smog check obviously. Could the knock sensor be the reason to all my problems?? Is it coincidance that the knock sensor went back while the mechanic was trying to make my car pass?

"knock" and "ping" are the same thing. Sounds kind of like the engine is eating cornflakes if it's not severe.

Nothing is impossible with electronic engine controls, but a knock sensor is not one of the usual suspects in high emissions.

OTOH, the knock sensor does directly affect the timing, so if it is malfunctioning badly enough, like I said, anything is possible.

Bottom line is, you have to address what codes you have first. It is not proper diagnostic procedure to just ignore a code and start looking for something else.
Address that fault code, get rid of it, then start looking for other things if it still won't pass.
