Thanks :)
Have you looking into Image Dyanmics for subs? an IDQ 12 would go very nice with that system. An adire aduo shiva would also fit the bill.
Well, I kinda skimped on the sub because i was planning to forego the sub altogether just beause people say subs don't do much for a convertible...Also, a Shiva wouldn't fit in my tiny car...

Did you look into the IDQ 10"s? They take about the same amount of displacement as the woofer you picked out and I am sure would sound so much better. I haven't heard this sub, but all of Image Dynamics products are simply outstanding. Take a look at Elemental Designs, I think one of their 10"s can fit in that small of an enclosure as well.

The e10k was my second choice...

Take a look at the CDT subs on sale @ www.thezeb.com

How about a bit less power up front and a better sub?

Umm, your sub is a little on the low side, why not go with an adire shiva for $125 ? www.caraudio.com forums has lots of info and people who can help you.

Also, why is your listing pricing the 2150 at half price? I have one of those and know it costs more than $90.

Also, ported or sealed enclosure? Self install ? What guage of wiring were you planning on running? Were you going to run those components off the HU ?

No way a Shiva would fit in my car...

Local shop, big sale
Also, ported or sealed enclosure?
sealed...again because of space
Self install ?
No, same shop

paltry? explain.

and not bad setup for the price. i learned the hard way that u need components or else your stereo image is going to suck. my civics 6.5" speakers are down near my feet. sounds like cr@p

my next upgrade will be cdt fronts like yours.

i wonder if i can leech power for a sub off my 200watt 4way amp:p

i guess car stuff is going down in price, 2 years ago i paid way more for stuff argh!

Very good choice up front, but pairing CDT HD with Pioneer subs is like having a filet mignon w/ McDs fries (well maybe not that extreme but you get the point). I say go with the EDK sub, upgrade the HU to SH707, and downgrade from HD to Classic for your fronts. You're only running USX amps, hold off on HD until you can afford something better to drive them.

Thanks to a link, I'm thinking of going after the CDT MS100 sub...Only problem is I've heard they have a tendency to blow...Maybe I will get the e10k after all but the reason I originally wanted the Pioneer was because all the after-purchase reviews seem to look upon them very favorably

BTW, what would I gain by upgrading the HU to the SH707?

those are some neat stuff there.... the SX980 is supposed to be good, but if you're gonna upgrade anyways then I'd say go for Pioneer Premier DEH-740MP at ikeasound.com for 235$ shipped

as far as amp goes, I have a super clean Crossfire Audio Tek50.4 I can sell ya. It'll do 100x2 bridged @ 4ohm 12 volt. 200x2 bridged @ 2ohm 12 volt STABLE. add 20% more power for 14.4V line :p

I think I made the decision a few days ago to get everything new just so I could have the warranty...I'm so scared of this expensive stuff crapping out :(

Yeah, the upgrading never ends...maybe I'll just go all out and get the Kenwood KDC-MP919 I really want - Link...Mmm...

Oh yeah, I should add that you can't see the head unit when it's in my car so looks don't matter...and also, I have a convertible so some trunk bass might get lost in the open air...and that's why I didn't go all out in those departments
I've got the SX-980 and am thrilled with it. I plan on buying another for my next car.
Mind if I asked what you paid for it?

Orginally I wanted a SX980 but they have been discontinued, so I decided to get an Sh707. I'm very happy with it, it has a lot of great features and wasn't a lot more than the other one. I paid about $230. Those are very good amps, I have a 2050 and I sold my 2150 because I needed an amp that could run at 2 ohms. I would definetely look at a e10k over that Pioneer sub, they get some killer reviews. I have the previous generation e12a and a 600.1 in my car now, and it rocks.

Good luck, car audio is good stuff.

oooooooh...I want that stereo so badly. Right now, I still have the Kenwood KDC-Mp8017, which i've had the last 2 years almost. Old, but good.
I also have that exact sub you have listed in your setup, but i'm not using it since i switched to 3 Bazookas.

I think I've changed my mind about the sub to a CDT MS100...

Okay, the CDT HD-62's are sold out...anyone have any suggestions for what 6.5" component speakers to get around $250?

I'm thinking of the Crystal CSs60s or the Cadence Neo's...maybe the Focal 165k...or whatever Rainbow makes in that price range...
