I'm just getting ready to eat a bowl of campbell's soup. I noticed in the ingredients that Monosodium Glutamate was listed. I thought that stuff was considered taboo these days. Most chinese restaurants I go to advertise that they don't use MSG.

Do all mainstream soup brands do this (e.g. progresso, etc.)?

Fortunately, I am not sensitive to the stuff.

I don't get this association of MSG with chinese food, it is in many commerical food products actually.

It tastes alright. I wonder what this would taste like without MSG?

What do lazy and cheap people who have MSG sensitivity do for lunch??

Virtually no one is sensitive, and those who are it is usually just get mild headaches. Eat it and be happy.

MSG isn't dangerous unless your sensitive to it. The key to everything is moderation.

Food becomes very bland without it.

Lola is very sensitive to it so we cannot eat most processed foods. It's not so bad because it forces us to eat better.

Lola does not get sick at most fast food places, but BW3 always causes a reaction, even if she just gets a hamburger.

My mom gets pretty bad headaches from it... So she avoids all foods with MSG.

What would happen if you made an all-organic stir-fry and added MSG?

And served it to Amused and Descartes?

You really wouldn't need to. Many meats and vegetables already have MSG in it. ;) It is very difficult to avoid. Which is why most people who claim to be sensitive actually aren't (since they eat tomatoes, meats, cheese, mushrooms, etc without headaches).

Yes, you are right, many things do naturally have MSG, but when it is added, it does have a more adverse effect.
