my Camcorder does wide screen

My new camcorder does it in wide screen. But all the video software i have compresses it into regular screen. it did not come with any software (besides for taking the still pictures off it).

so any recommendations?
 
Newer software? I know Pinnacle Studio did 16:9 as late as version 8 (maybe even 7?). And make sure you are using NTSC 16:9 as your default capture, edit, and burn properties.

i didnt' have any software besides what came with XP. But someone told me Vista would do it. i have a duel boot system of Xp an vista. havent used it for a few months though
