I have tried chrome IE firefox and opera. they start to open a page then go down, then I can reload the page sometimes without a crash. I have run antivirus from a few sources including win defender, run sfc, disabled extensions, uninstalled java and flash, and reinstalled my nic driver. thanks for any help

Install CCleaner and deleted all browser temp file, cookies, history, and see if that helps.

Check LAN cable(s) - Swap out if you have a spare. Check with ISP and see if they can see anything wrong from their end.

Power down router, modem and computer. Restart modem, then router, then PC.

No luck?

Install Malwarebytes Malware Remover, run in safe mode.

Could also be a faulty Realtek network chip if your using onboard LAN, try a networking card?

Good luck!

Don't know if it's going to help but a relative's comp would freeze/bluescreen/etc randomly with all browsers on certain sites and it turned out to be the Flash plugin. To be more exact, I had to disable hardware acceleration for the Flash plugin.

I have tried a different video card and various drivers (for the mobo and the video card) but nothing helped. So it's working stable now. Could be something else for you of course.

Download Ubuntu, and boot from the CD. Try browsing. Did it work? You have ruled out hardware issues. Did it crash? You have a hardware issue.
