He is 20 years old, in college, and supported almost entirely by my parents. He lives in a crappy student housing apartment with 4 bedrooms. 2 of the roommates are random roommates that he never talks to. I doubt the apartment complex would even allow pets. He doesn't work and he parties constantly. I just can't picture it being a good idea for him to get a cat. It seems like it would be a poorly cared for cat.

He can get a cat, but he will have to turn in his man card. But if he does, the cat will be just fine.

What do you want us to do about it? Use the collective mental telepathy of ATOT to change his mind? If that's what you're hoping for then I really should warn you that you're throwing a bucket down into a dry well looking for mental powers here.

so tell him not to get a cat. maybe his roommates are allergic. he wouldn't know if he doesn't ask. that would be one bad idea.

Just let him get his cat, keep it in an aquarium, and put a large hampster wheel inside.

He wanted to get some weird bobcat hybrid before but money concerns made him think that just getting one from the pound was better.

I wonder if that would work for my girlfriend!

Kittens suck! Liek to claw things, and go nuts and break things lieing around.

Get a 3+ year old cat that is no longer crazy and is prefereably declawed./

kittens are damn funny, thats half the point of having a cat, so you can watch it as a kitten do dumb things

Declawing cats is cruel and unnecessary.

Thanks. I was hoping you would. You have my permission to slap him around a bit if he doesn't get it.

Cats are awesome, but I don't think an apartment with 4 partying college students would be an ideal situation for one. Get a lil dog instead. I just bought a Jack Russell Terrier (pic) and she is definitely a lady killer.
