So you're telling me a 29 year old woman was able to:

A) get here and get legal on her own and

B) smuggle her entire family (including young children) here?

We do have immigration problems in this country but this whole thing seems a bit much.

Perhaps she was born here and has citizenship.

And her younger siblings are probably also citizens.

OP was not clear.

Its impossible to become "legal" if you came here illegally, short of a pardon.

OP should just talk to his brother.

Coming here illegally is a pretty broad brush though.

I knew some Eastern Europeans in college that overstayed their visa after they finished school and it was eventually sorted out with legal help.

It's actually very common, I worked with a person who managed to get here legally. They worked their ass off (2 full time jobs) to save up enough money to have 6 family members "brought" into California. Since she paid around $10k for each of them, I can only imagine there was no legal way to accomplish this. Unless of course she just liked working 2 jobs and giving away 60k to get her family here *shrug*

That isn't coming here illegally. Its coming legally and then staying here illegally after the time is up. If you come here legally, you are good to go. If you come illegally you have no hope. Automatically ineligible.

7 yrs is a lot of time to invest in a relationship...Sounds like your brother is smitten with Jane...As long as she isnt wasting his money on designers clothes etc (D&G sunglasses), it seems to me that one day when Janes sibling have grown up, Jim will be very will regarded from some very thankful in-laws....
I personally think its too late for Jim to back out, he in committed...Why dont you as a loving brother see what you can do to help them?
