I told him and his wife to get a Dell. They didn't listen. They have this attitude where they purposely get crap because "It's all we need". They also use AOL. Should I disown him?

Eh...let it go...it's their money. What they get for cheap now may cost them in support calls later. Fortunately, eMachines have been getting better.

Yes.

:p

Seriously - let them fight with the thing for a while. Just tell them that you will not be their 24/7 tech support line, should the thing decide to crap out. They'll either be happy with it or realize - sooner or later - that they should have gotten something better.

Just let them be happy with their box, living in ignorance.

Rest assured that in about three weeks they'll have their machine completely filled with spyware (not that this wouldn't also happen with a Dell).

When their experience is horrible, a nice "I Told you So" will be in order.

I was thinking more of a Nelson Muntz:

<Nelson> Ha ha!</Nelson>

But you're right, it would be better to be nice to them.
