Are you sure the monitor is turned on and connected properly? Is anything showing up on you monitor? Has it ever worked before? Just some simple stuff that's easy to overlook...

What I'd try first is removing the motherboard from the case (with everything still connected), and place it on an anti-static bag. Then turn it on. Usually when that happens (in my case anyways), it just meant that I tightened my stand-offs too much, or there was a stand-off in the wrong place that was touching the mobo in an inappropriate place.

If that doesn't work, then perhaps you can try putting the memory modules in a different DIMM socket. Or if you have access to other memory, try those too. Some mobos can be picky about the memory that they like (I'm not too acquainted with the mobo you picked out).

simple check, make sure the monitor works...unplug the monitor and there should be a test pattern that shows up on the screen, possibly saying "check signal cable"...If not just mess around with the settings and you should see a menu. Monitor's do go bad, its rare but it happens =).

Did you plug the ATX12V connector in?

The board does not support PC3200, but I would think that the ram would just run at PC2700 speeds. Maybe you need to go into the BIOS and set the memory speed manually?

How would he get into the BIOS if he doesnt get any video? Also, the board doesnt specifically support DDR400, so Id say your RAM is the problem. Go pickup some DDR333 and see if it works.

Pretend you didn't see that. :D

I was hoping he hadn't plugged in the ATX12V connector, and he'd get video when he did. Yeah. That's the ticket! :)

you guys are awesome thank you for the help w/o commenting on my horrid motherboard. (this is my first time building a computer) i will try those things as soon as i get home and yes i am 100% sure that my monitor works. i use it with my other computer (gateway bleh). but anyways i was looking at the box also last night and it said it supported pc400 and 333, but what do i do with my 2 sticks of pc3200(both 512 mb)?? . there is no way i can return it to the store since i bought it awhile back.

oh and btw is a nvidia 6800gt for 250$ a good deal????

It may be the video card is not seated good. Remove the video card totally and reseat the card and make sure it is seated totally. I beleve there should be a little clip that locks the card in place. I had the same problem when I installed my limited edition it was not totally seated and the system did the exact same thing. all fans ran but no video.

A couple things to start with:

1) what brand and model is the 350W power supply? That Antec case doesn't come with an Antec PSU, so I'm wondering what you got in there.

2) ECS motherboards may arrive with their Clear-CMOS jumper in the "Clear" position rather than the "Normal operation" position. Unplug the computer from the wall, look in your manual for the location of the jumper, and see if it's in the right position. If it isn't, just set it correctly, plug the computer in again, and try it now.
