Been there. I got written up for going to the ER.

The next day I worked a 12 hour shift with the stomach flu and strep throat.

I think I got fired. I don't care though, I'm not risking my life or the life of other people on the road by delivering pizzas while on a cold medicine cocktail.

Is there no way you can reason with them? I mean, I don't see why companies can't just take the fact that you're sick and can't afford to go to the doctor.

I'm hoping to talk my way out of it tomorrow, but whether or not they keep their word remains to be seen. If I do get fired I will just go work at one of the other 20 pizza places in town, no big deal.
