My brain hurts re i3 i5 i7 CPU differences

Don't know if its been the long week I have had or what but I wanted to explain to someone what the difference is between the i3,i5 and i7 CPUs for at least laptops I can not seem to find a clear explanation.

Can someone help out a confused person with a headache? ;-)

Core i3: Dual core.
Core i5: Dual core w/HT. Quad core without HT.
Core i7: Quad core with HT. 6 Core with HT.

8 series - 8MB L3, higher CPU Turbo
9 series - Extreme Edition, even higher CPU Turbo
