My boss wants to get a webcam

My boss just told me that he wants to get a webcam to show the construction progress of one of our buildings. He wants both internal and external people to be able to view the progress.

Does anyone have any experience with setting one up? Also, do you recommend any brands or models? We're happy to spend a decent amount of money to get something that has the ability to pan and zoom.
