My boss is on the Subway diet

Recently (in the past couple of months), I realized that my boss has been bringing a Subway sub to work every day and eating it, along with some potato chips and a can of soup. I don't know what he has for breakfast/dinner.

A couple days ago, one of the secretaries in our office remarked that he looks like he's lost some weight. My boss responded with, "Yup, about 45 lbs. so far!"

I guess it's expensive, but it seems to work all right.

What's the Subway diet, is that like when you eat less than your body needs for maintenance and thus you lose calories? And you buy Subways because you want to look like Jared (who, BTW, has a big nasty stomach)? Man, you don't need subways for that!

Do you have to lay off the mayonase, cheese, and anything else which would make their sandwiches taste halfway decent?

Dunno...we don't really have that type of employee-boss relationship where I could ask him...I just get my work and head to my office. :)

Sounds like your boss is on the "I'm a lazy bastard" diet. Tell him to invest in a copy of The Men's Heatlh Hard Body Plan. I've used it for the past eight months and I went from 6'0", 245 lbs., 28% body fat to 6'0", 215 lbs., 11% body fat. Getting and staying in shape and healthy is a lifestyle choice... tell him to cut out the potato chips too by the way... soup & sandwich is all he needs, and if actually works out daily he could probably eat as much as he wants - I swim about 40 laps every single day and I eat like a horse.

I never put cheese or mayo on my subs and they taste great to me...hell the only sauce i usually put on is oil and vinegar, maybe some salt and pepper or when i feel like a treat ill get sweet onion sauce.

Two people didn't understand my post, so maybe I shouldn't post again, but...ah, I'll stop.

No, I'm not drunk unfortunately.

What kind of ogre eats a sub AND soup? That's two meals.. He must be huge to lose weight by eating too much.
He's not that big to begin with...before he started he was probably 5'10, 180-190 lbs.

And eating chips is ok on it?

Seems kind of weird, but if you're on a caloric deficit, you'll lose weight nomatter what you eat.

A friend of mine was on Jenny Craig's, and she lost some weight with that... and the food was pretty damn good, and cheap (and least cheaper than what i had imagined... and cheaper than what i was paying for lunch)

maybe it's a 6" sub and a cup of soup.

It's very common to eat a sandwich with soup....kinda like burger and fries.

But yes, maybe if it were a 12" sub (which i doubt it is) with a BOWL of soup that would be excessive.

I doubt I could eat that sodium laden crap from Subway more than 3 days in a row before I'm ready to puke.

Wait, he was 5'10" 190 before he started. Now he's lost 45 pounds? Does he look like a microphone stand now? 145 seems a little light for 5'10", if you have any muscle on your body at all.

Different strokes for different folks. At least the guy is doing something about it.

OH, I can't help it.

He'll lose weight and castrate his metabolism in the meantime, plus still be 100% clueless on how to eat properly. End result is he will balloon up as most people do and have even less lean mass than before.
