Bah. I own a pair of doc marten 1460's. The heel slips on the right boot, and i forgot to wear long socks today. So the top of the boot rubs my leg and sort of cut it. I love the look of the boots, but sizing and the heel slippage is a pain. When getting them, the uk8 was a bit tight, but uk9 is too big. But the 8 didnt slip, and the leather has stretched and broken in a lot. Hindsight is 20/20, I should have gotten a smaller size.

Any suggestions for reducing heel slippage on a pair of boots (I already have other insoles in them, it didn't help much.

/vent.

I'm in the back of a CS classroom listening an OS lecture. I don't think they have hacksaws and towels nearby.

Wool socks. They'll bulk up your feet, and they're the most comfortable anyway.

I'm in Hong Kong for the semester. Wool socks and thicker insoles than what I got now are a challenge to find.

I miss Target and Walmart.

They sell stick on heel inserts, and things like that. They can be problematic keeping them fixed in place though. Are they in good shape? Maybe you could sell them to someone else, and buy a better fitting pair. You'll lose a bit of money, but ill fitting footwear's sucks at any price.

I checked ebay, the boots were about 75$ and used pairs go for 20$. Barely seems worth the cost of selling it. They have been worn pretty hard since I got them, hoping to break them in.

I think your best bet is heavier socks. If you live somewhere(permanently) that gets cold, I'd save them for winter and wear them with extra heavy socks, then get another pair for routine wear.

Buy better quality boots that actually fit? :p

lxskllr already mentioned it, but you should be able to buy "stick-on" heel inserts that may help short-term.

Otherwise, heavy socks are your only option until you get tired of wearing boots that don't fit properly.
