Earlier this year I decided to lose some weight. I was a hefty 278 lbs at my heaviest and felt horrible. So, I turned to atkins to quickly shed some weight and see if it would help.
It did and I got down to 250 lbs fairly quickly. I then decided to try the maintenance portion to get my body used to this weight and then lose some more this fall to try to get down to 220.. baby steps, baby steps..
So, I've started eating more "normal" foods.. pizza, coffee with creamer, some sugary soda, hamburgers with bun, chips, pastas and am also eating healthier also, more meats, but not really watching my carb intake.
I'm not gaining weight back though. One would think that by eating 3 pieces of pizza and drinking a peach nehi it would not be the healthiest, but I can do this kind of stuff now, maybe have a small bowl of ice cream for desert, etc, and not gain any weight back. I ate that and a big mac for lunch and a cup of coffee for breakfast. My carbs are high, but I'm not gaining it back. Just seems weird to me as I've been eating like this now for a couple months with no weight gain.
I'm ready to start the initial ketosis phase of atkins again though.. just some musings...
