I would like to get a rebel xt but some other ideas would be great! help! I havent bought myself anything nice in a loooooong time....i deserve something help me ATOT

*EDIT*
I have a good job at Northrop Grumman and I have saved about 10 percent in my 401K and It's time to buy something nice. I play a lot of golf and I have a canon A80 but i dont take that many pics. I wonder if i got this camera, would i take more pics? I love baseball and the red sox so just pondering on what to do with this cash!

x800xl? more ram? a nice chair? food? save it? all of the above? looking at the rig in your sig... x800xl, dfi nf4, and a 3000+ venice would go nicely together to replace what you ahve now

In reality, save up $3000 more and open a Roth-IRA or simply learn tio invest now and retire at 40. F the 401K!

i do have a SEP IRA from when I was self employed...i feel that i am saving properly...

What you are doing with retirement accounts is fine. Tehre are other methods that will let you retire earlier, but it's not for everyone.

yeah i think everyone's situation and goals are different...now onto more spending money suggestions!

Please excuse the thread crap but just thought that I mention that my retirement check now comes from Northrop Grumman. Used to work for TRW. :D

If you don't take pictures now, you probably don't want a DSLR. Those are pretty much for people who take pictures and are unsatisfied with the quality and/or versatility of lesser cameras. They are larger, heavier, and more difficult(far from impossible, unless you want to produce really world class art; but not a happy snap kind of thing) than lesser cameras. The idea that a better camera=more pictures is seductive; but largely wrong. Don't fall for it.
