I'm 33 now. Do you guys ever have birthdays where nobody remembers or wishes you a happy birthday? I guess it's no big deal, but I do feel a bit sad about it. Do you guys ever have to bring it up yourself in order to remind people?

Ask yourself.. when was the last time you called someone else to wish them a Happy Bday.. if you were reminded by the person it doesnt count. With the exception of those closest to you... it's damn near impossible for everyone to remember your birthday...

In other words... do a better job dropping hints.
 
I get a birthday card at work from my co-workers and a Happy Birthday mention in the thread here. I don't really have any family so that's pretty much it for me. But I do buy myself my own birthday present.

Other than that, it's really just like any other day.
 
Uhhh. My birthday. I forgot. I went bowling with a bunch of friends. Then we had dinner and I got surprised with a few presents. Then we partied it up at my apartment and I threw up. When I woke up I saw a bunch of facebook wall posts.
 
When my Birthday past, I spent it pretty much at home alone. My g/f was off somewhere and scheming on how to break-up with me the following month. No friends remembered it... damn. That sucks.

It's 6 months past now and I feel awesome. Fvck my bday. 🙂

I can't say I've "never" been forgotten on my birthday, but there have been days I haven't rec'd a call.

A spouse makes a difference.


My wife and kids make a big deal of my birthday & I'm a really just a wuss inside so I soak it up for all it's worth!

Do you have any family (parents, siblings)..? It seems a bit sad if family members don't remember.

Maybe next year you could decide to organise a mini celebration for yourself. Arrange with a few friends to go to the pub or something.

I don't call my friends on their birthdays. I don't even call my brothers on their birthdays.
 
I'm terrible with these things. I wish I can remember peoples birthdays, but I always miss them unless someone tells me about it ahead of time.

That happened to me today too. The HR person at work remembered my birthday, but so far my mom, my girlfriend, and friends haven't called. There's only 40 minutes left today.

But then this happens every year.

Damn.. I cant remember any for at least the past fifteen years where no one has called/texted to wish me happy birthday. Hell, my cousin in London and an old friend who now lives in Atlanta still send a card (paper!) every year. My wife certainly never forgets, neither do my sisters... My parents usually forget, but then they are old and forget their own too!

Speaking of which.. DAMN ill be 31 in 16 days...
 
I prefer my birthdays to just go by in obscurity. People seem to get hurt on my bdays, including me...so dont remind me.
