He now says "Stargate"

It sounds like "Stawgaaat"

I now can add that to his 'wolf whistle', his partial gilligans island whistle, the word "NO", and "pretty boy".

BTW he is a cockatiel.

Sorry I added the info after you read.

It is a cockatiel. They are not the best talkers.

No video camera, I'll post pics later though :)

That is so cool.

My grand parents had a Mynah and it learned by listen to people (no one taught it, but it picked up a few words by listen to kids & soldiers that pass by).

Má chúi = mom banana
Ð? má = f__k mom
Ð? má mày = f__k mom your
Bác t?i = uncle come
Chào = hello
Cám on = thank (thank you)

Why would you waste a new word with "Stargate"?

Why not "queef" or "cellar door"?

I don't know. I recorded a stargate episode, and would replay in a loop "stargate" all day while I was at work.

I'm a sci fi nerd I suppose.

There used to be a pet store near my old apartment where there was a parrot. People would come in and teach him pretty nasty words. I walked in one day for the first time and I hear this bird going off "fahhk you faat beech" "you mamma" etc. Funny as hell but the owner was pissed off about it.

Yea don't get a cockatiel if you want peace and quiet. It is like a two year old - it sleeps through the nite - but all day is jabber.

I talks, bellows, sinks, whistles non-stop sometimes :)

A GREAT bird for ppl who want it quiet is a Senegal Parrot. They are awesome clowns who RARELY vocalize.

A young man named John received a parrot as a gift. The parrot had a bad attitude and an even worse vocabulary. Every word out of the bird's mouth was rude, obnoxious and laced with profanity. John tried and tried to change the bird's attitude by consistently saying only polite words, playing soft music and anything else he could think of to "clean up" the bird's vocabulary.

Finally, John was fed up and he yelled at the parrot. The parrot yelled back. John shook the parrot and the parrot got angrier and even ruder. John, in desperation, threw up his hand, grabbed the bird and put him in the freezer. For a few minutes the parrot squawked and kicked and screamed. Then suddenly there was total quiet. Not a peep was heard for over a minute. Fearing that he'd hurt the parrot, John quickly opened the door to the freezer. The parrot calmly stepped out onto John's outstretched arms and said "I believe I may have offended you with my rude language and actions. I'm sincerely remorseful for my inappropriate transgressions, and I fully intend to do everything I can to correct my rude and unforgivable behavior."

John was stunned at the change in the bird's attitude. As he was about to ask the parrot what had made such a dramatic change in his behavior, the bird continued, "May I ask what the turkey did?"

We've had our cockatiel for about 5+ years. There's always music playing, there are always people in the house, yet he can never muster up the courage to do anything but chirp, gobble up a bunch of feed, & stare at us.
