i somehow managed to perform a bad flash to my asus cuv4x-e motherboard, and now im trying to revive a dead bios. first thing it does when i boot is one long beep and two short beeps... then pauses for a few seconda and gives constant fast beeps. what i want to know is what switches aflash uses so i can try to boot to dos off a floppy (hopefully), and run a batch that will automatically tell it to flash the bios, reset the cmos, and then reboot... the guide at sysopt shows that tha award flash utility can do this, i dont know if what they have there was just an example or if any award bios flashing utility does the same thing.. im pretty open to trying about anything to get it working at this point. any other suggestions would be good to, im also planning on removing all the components in my system to see if i can get the beeps to stop or atleast get different beeps.

ok, i removed the video card, no difference.. removed one stick of ram, no change.. removed both sticks of ram, now i get one very long beep for about a second, then a wait for about a second.. and another long beep.. it does this continually... also removed all the 2 ide cables so there is nothing there. dosent seem to be wanting to access the floppy tho =(

ok, when i take everything out, no beeps.. but no video.. the cpu and anything else but the ram causes a long 1 second beep, 1 second silence, 1 second beep again.. and then with the ram in a long beep, 2 short beeps, then about 3 seconds of silence followed by constant fast beeps.. im pretty sure the bios is cooked.. i even tried removing the battery from the mobo and leaving it like that for about 5 minutes. guess im going back to asus tech support again (last time they told me to go to a local distributor to pick up a bios (wouldent tell me where to find a list of them tho), so i call the local asus distributor (supercom), no go.. said go to asus, and that they should have shipped me a bios.. damn tech gave me the run around =( got her name tho =)

If your friend or someone you know has the same board you can try a hot swap on the bios and flash yours.
Its kind of risky thou but many have done it.
