My right big toe used to only crack every now and then, but now it's more or less continuous. Almost every step I take, particularly on hard surfaces, results in a loud 'click' from my toe. It's audible across the room. It's like the joint pops every single time I move it... I can literally sit here and crack my toe without touching it continuously just by wiggling it. I don't even have to wiggle any special way...

Better yet, my left big toe has started a similar trend and cracks occasionally as well. It's *really* annoying and it sounds really gross.

I'm not going to bother a doctor about this, but I want it fixed!!! Well... my girlfriend wants it fixed more than I do. Any ideas?

try to take some anti-inflammation meds for a week? (ie - advil) and see if it helps?

my knees do the same thing going up stairs. every step its like some kind of twine is being stretched and plucked. it's really annoying and apparently in my family it just gets worse as we get older.

hell, tell your girlfriend it's part of what makes you so awesome... she'll miss that sound if she ever gets rid of you :p

My knees used to do that but I went to physio for that. I laid on a tennis ball a few times a day for a few weeks and it was totally fixed. That's what I'm hoping can be done for my toe!

Do tell...my left knee does this every time I do squats or fully extend it. Also my ankle makes a really loud "pop" every time I rotate it :D

For me, it was because the muscles on the outside of the leg were hypertensive. For example, on my left leg, the muscles on the left side of my thigh were very tense. You could immediately tell because rubbing it was very sore and tender.

So I'd lay on a tennis ball pushing against these muscles. This would force them to relax, and stop pulling my knee out of alignment.

both my knees used to crack whenever I bent my legs, 6 months of glucosimine supplements cured that.

Well maybe if you'd stop waxing your carrot for 5 minutes you wouldn't have this problem... or if you keep doing it you may fix it. Who knows?

I have this same issue. When I walk barefoot, you hear "step, click, step, click, step, click" It doesn't seem to do it when I wear socks though.

If you have ever broken or fractured your toe, like I did then that's the effect. I haven't found a way to get rid of it yet though. I broke my toe when I was about 10 I played tag and then BAM!! Straight into a rock. It was the size of a small tangerine and looked like mix of white grapes and blueberries. Once the swelling went down and it healed, even a month after that, it started popping every time I moved it and I had no clue what to do and my dad said id be fine. And I still am but its REALLY annoying!!!!
