My BFG6800GT OC Came WAYYYY OC'd

Topic says it all, I just put this thing together today. Is it possible I got someones RMA who had it OC'd???

Rivatuner and 3dMark05 both report it running at 410/1100.... but its supposed to be 370/1000.

Some people have reported of getting BFG OC's that are actually overclocked higher than 370mhz. I think 370mhz is what the average speed of the OC is on the BFG OC's, not exactly what each BFG 6800GT OC's speed is. IF so, you are lucky.
 
No, BFG reportedly OC's all GT's to 370 core, leaving mem @ the default 1000. Congrats on the OC. Do you have the custom copper cooler or the reference cooler? Not a bad start. I have the copper cooler and it topped out at like 415-420/1120
 
Some motherboards are probably running the vid card's bus out of spec by default.

ASUS' PEG link comes to mind. It can overclcok your video card by itself.
 
Nice...don't complain, you just got an Ultra on the cheap. Best of all, when Rollo comes back, he can't flay you alive for COing your video card.
