Ever sicne i got my new monitor (Samsung 730B) which was yesterday i was trying to get into bf2, it worked on my crt monitor i had fine, but now once i try to load into bf2, it will load for 2 seconds and then close. I have no clue what this is from, i tried reinstalling bf2, but it still doesnt work. I got my dvi cable today and it still doesnt work, what can be the problem?

it's because the resolution you set before you bought you old monitor isn't compatible with your new monitor

reinstalling the game would solve this issue (i had the same problem before)

try using your old monitor again to see if it loads up

if it does, set it to the recommended resolution of your new monitor

so u want me to do what you said before but have the game uninstalled and then install bf2 back on my new monitor?

This happends to everyone that used a diff monitor after teh game was already happend on my system. I switched from a 17" to a 19" 940b and even tho they both ran at res 1280x1024, it still would just shut back to desktop. I re-installed the game not knowing the problem, but i believe you may go into the saved resolutions somewhere in the BF2 folder and delete them, instead of going through the hassle of a re-install. Try searching it up in this forum, i dunno how many times ive heard of this problem.

Try manually setting the resolution of bf2. Right-click the bf2 shortcut and go to propteries. Append this to the target....
+menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +szx 1680 +szy 1050
my resolution is 1680x1050. change the numbers to a resolution your monitor supports.
