Nof before someone moves this to the overclocking thread, let it be known that this problem only comes up when overclocking AND other time (although rare). I have an Abit BD7 with a P4 1.6A. The system will not boot consistently. At default speeds and voltages, the system does fine. Now I have found that under moderate O/C'ing (at and below 133MHz) if the systems locks on a cold boot, or after saving and exiting the BIOS, that if I hold down the power button 4 seconds to power off, then right back on again, the system boots. And is ROCK STABLE in Windows. The higher the bus speed goes, the less chance I have of getting the system to boot. I KNOW its not the processor, because I had the system up and running at 2560MHz (16*160) and was again ROCK STABLE in Windows. The error code on the LCD readout says "26" when it locks. I am also using Micron RAM and a 460W poower supply. Any clues? I also have update to the latest BIOS and have tried varoius sticks of RAM from Nanya, Samsung, Micron, and Generic. I cant just leave the system on all the time as this is a prototype for a workstation at my job...if it were my home system, I wouldn't care. :(

benut,

It's a known bug with the current version of the BD7 bios. Many before you have reported it on this forum and elsewhere. That's why it's generally recommended that people avoid the BD7...until Abit releases a new bios to fix the bugs.
