My bad luck with Antec

I like Antec but I seem to have continuing issues with Antec products. I guess I should not buy them if I keep having these issues but Antec generally has the more affordable cases in the mid to upper level customers. My last four cases have been Antec. I didn't think that it had any problems at first. I was able to get everything working except for the front Firewire port. I thought it was because I could not figure how to connect to the Audigy card so I didn't bother. It wasn't until a while later, I purchased the same case in a different color and attempted to connect the firewire connector that I realized the other case was bad because in the new case, the firewire port worked just fine.

My next case was the Antec P180. Upon arrival, I notice one of the hinges was broken so I contact Antec and they mail me a new from panel. Last week, I purchased an Antec Overture II and after I set everything up, I get squeeling sound from my power supply fan. After a while, the power supply would not work anymore. It would shut off automatically after a few seconds. Anyone else experience alot of problems with Antec products?

I've used and tested several Antec products over the years and have only had one major problem. I received a dead power supply in a case I was using for a clients computer. I contacted their customer service and had a replacement sent out to me. The only other problems I have ever had would be receiving a beat up case, but I blame the shipping company for that. It sounds like you are certainly having a string of bad luck with their products and hopefully that will turn around for you if you continue to use them. Best of luck to you in future purchases.

Sounds like just bad luck.

I sell primarily Antec cases at my store and yeah I have had a few with a bad PSU or a busted door but nothing out of the ordinary.

I must say that their Customer Service has ALWAYS been top notch... You can contact them for just about anything and they will fix it...

Ah hell! I just purchased one of these from www.PCNation.com! This would just ruin my week if mine ends up the same way. What all did you pack into that case if you don't mind me asking? Mine is running a bit late and I'm expecting it by tomorrow. Hoping Antec didn't lie and my 7800GT fits in it.

Hundreds of builds here, with 98% of them cheap cases with cheap generic power supplies, and sure there have been a couple DOA. But when my Antec Aria died after less than 60 hours of very light use, I was able to see their "fine" (cough cough bulshot) support. They will not cross ship with credit card. Since they used a "Proprietary" power supply in the Aria, I could not stick in another to get by. Had to send them old. Then they had to check it. And finally, nearly 3 weeks later, I had a replacement. Needless to say, sold the Aria the next day, and went back to Athenatech with there 200w power supplies.

As a side note to all the PS hype. An old Athenatech A100-BB with 200W is currently running Jetway mATX and Opteron 146 at 300x10 (3GHz), DVB-S PCI tuner card, Sasem HDTV tuner, and ATi x800 PCIe. Zero problems or issues, except had to replace fan after 8 months.
