Got a new copy of my auto insurance policy today, and seeing as I was bored,and also needing a good dose of reality, to bring me down from my rather chipper mood, I decided to read it, after all, it is several chapters shorter than War and Peace. actually, To be honest, I really didn't read the whole thing, but instead headed straight to the part where they explain the many ways that they can weasel out of not paying your claim. In that section, I came across this,(and I kid you not), under *exclusions* in the medical payments coverage, number 9 states,
Injury caused by or as a consequence of:
A. Insurrection; or
B. Rebellion or revolution
C. Civil war;
D. War (declared or undeclared)
E. Discharge of a nuclear weapon (even if accidental)
#10 Injury from or as a consequence of the following, whether
controlled or uncontrolled or however caused:
A. Nuclear reaction;
B. Radiation; or
C. Radioactive contamination

Does your policy state something similar? Is this just CYA for them? Do they know something we don't? I'm I wearing a tin foil hat? Given the climate that exists in todays world, Oh, the ironing. Anyway, have a nice day :) and take heart in the knowledge that your dog is finally getting enough cheese.

Actually that provision is standard in a lot of insurance policies.
I underwrite directors' & officers' and employment practices liability. We have something very similar.

I'm not going to drag out my policy, but that wording sounds very similar to what's in mine, and I have read it.

Um, thats common language on all policies.

weasel nothing, I am sure you could get a specialty policy that covers those things, but most likely you would say "WAAAAAAAA THAT IS TOO MUCH MONEY TO PAY FOR THAT"

K, thanks, bye bye ;)

Great stuff to read to go to sleep though.

Hey, it's all good as long as you understand that, should a nuclear weapon accidently discharge inside your auto and merely injure you, they won't cover your medical expenses.

Maybe they went extra paranoid about the Surry nuclear power plant?

When I lived out in Lee Hall, we always could rely on a free calendar from the power company.
It had nice pretty seasonal pictures of the commonwealth. And some extra pages, map of the main roads, safety tips [of a silly FEMA add variety], and a fill-in-the-blank two sided color coded sign.

___ people here
___ people left

Since no roads cross the James anywhere near the area, I would've normally forgotten about the power plant.
