So, I posted a while back that I purchased a 2014 Audi S5 Technik. I bought it with 59k KM on the odometer. So far I've had 2 "minor" issues with car.
The check engine light came on. I pulled the code and it was P0492 - Insufficient Flow Secondary Air Pump Bank 2. After some google sleuthing, it was potential carbon build up. I didn't like the sounds of that. Made an appointment with Audi to have a look. It was at the same time, my A/C stopped blowing cold. Great, this should be a cheap visit.
I was told the High pressure switch was gone on the A/C, common issue, relatively inexpensive fix, +/- $200. I was also told that they would need to de-carbonize the engine. They mentioned that this is a common problem with some of the engines, but my car was out of warranty, so the dealership pulled the sensor on Bank 1 (to get P0491 code as well) and spoke with Audi Canada to have them cover 80% of the cost. They did the work.
Check Engine light comes back on a few days later, and wouldn't you know, A/C stops blowing cold again. I take it back, they said the high pressure switch they installed failed again (must have been faulty?), and they noticed a hair line crack in the combi valve for the secondary air pump system. Replaced both parts with no charge to me.
Check Engine light comes back on the day after I pick up the car, same P0492 code. A/C still blowing cold, so that's good. Car goes back into Audi on Thursday. They seemed stumped over the phone, as they said they were extremely confident that they solved the issue with the secondary air pump system. Hopefully they can resolve it this time. Although drive-ability is not affected, I hate seeing that yellow light on the dash.
TLDR: A/C has quit twice and hopefully now fixed, only paid for 1 repair. CE light showing Secondary Air Fault, Audi can't seem to fix, going back for third time for the same problem.
