So, whenever i get a "mini popup," like the one that says "Tuesday, July 26, 2005" when i mouseover my clock in the system tray, my graphics card lags to all hell. This also happens when i mouseover quicklaunch items and it pops up "Microsoft Outlook" or when i mouseover a newly created folder and it says "Folder is empty".
This seems really stupid. My FPS literally drops to 5 -at best- whenever i play in "windowed mode". I never had this problem playing DAOC in windowed mode and one of my buddies who has an nvidia card says he never noticed this problem in windowed mode. Is this a problem isolated to WoW (though the nvidia example would indicate otherwise), a driver problem (i have the latest catalyst drivers), or something else?
Also, is there any way to remove the "ati catalyst control center" option from the context menu that appears when i click on "desktop" or open space without uninstalling the control center or messing with regedit?
