I found the great deal on password for the Ati 4850 for 140 bucks shipped, I couldn?t pass it up. I was doing research online about how hot it was. I wanted to go with the Artic Cooling Accels Rev 2 to keep it cool.

The install was easy, just a few minor tweaks

I put arctic Sliver 5 on all of the chips and then added the heat sinks that came with the kit. The kit comes with 1 real long one, with open bolts to hold it down. I just cut it in half and cut the uneven side off, and I was albe to get all of my chips cooling
See Picture below, how all the chips fit that come with the kit

Fitment was a bit tight, but it works.

^ The one heat sink looks a bit off, but it was fixed after the picture.
The install was easy just needed the 4 bolts that came with the cooler, they were longer and it scrwed right in, took me about 20 mins to complete.

It got up playing Crysis for an hour to 57 C and this is OVERCLOCKED at 695mhz Cpu Clock and 1130Mhz Memory Clock. Not bad

Overall it does a very good job, I know I can flash it and get even more speed out of the card.

I hope my pictures help others who plan to get this great midrange card and great cooler

Because it eats up bandwidth.

Can you install a fan on the S1 R2 without a Frankenstein-ish mod?

I always that that too. But with tie wraps a fan on their looks like it was made for it :) I just don't like how that one ram sink on the bottom is hitting the heatpipe. If I can find some low profile ramsinks I'll put my S1 on my 4850 as well with no fan and run it passive :)

Nice article. I love my S1. I put it on my 8800GT, and was amazed at the differences it made.
