Stock voltage, i was just using 2 instances of prime 95 and my load temp soared to 65 from the idle temp of 39!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This was determined using abiteq. Is that normal? Seems like quite a bit of spread

I have a volcano 12 running @ 3700 rpm

That seems pretty high. My 4200+ is OC'd to 2.618ghz on the stock heatsink with 1.475v and runs at 51c load max. Maybe you used to much thermal grease, and make sure the heatsink is seated properly.

Try AS5 and check your airflow. I heard these chips do run hot, but I am getting about 32c idle with the stock HSF.

I have an antec sonata case, 2 120mm fans. I doubt it's a thermal grease issue because I put together a million pc's, and know a little goes a long way. I will check on the seating of the hsf though

must be airflow .. or room temps.

How far can you oc your x2 4600 MrUniq? Mine only get to 2.65 on stock volts
Oh, that's horrible. That's just barely faster than an FX-60: link.;)

Lol...really?[/quote]
Yes, really, didn't you click the link? Anyway, I'm thinking that you didn't get your heatsink seated properly, unless it's just in a hot room. You never did say what ambient (room) temp you're running it at. Also, your heatsink wasn't designed for two overclocked processors, it was designed for one 130 nm processor. You should definitely consider one of these: Arctic Cooling Freezer 64.

Yes definitely go for one of those. Core 0 is idling at 25C and Core 1 is idling at 30C w/ 1.5 Volts at 2.56Ghz with that Arctic Cooling Freezer

Loading to between 40-45 depending on the app.

Ambient is a toasty 18C

I thought you were using the stock, it has heatpipes....yea take that thermaltake off. I use the stock and it keeps mine around 35-45 range from idle to full load. Personnally I quit buying heatsinks when I moved from socket A.
