my athlon is at 223 degrees celsius?

interesting isn't it? I just downloaded Asus Probe (the name sounds unpleasantly painful) version 2.11 and it says my cpu temp is at 223 d. celsius. I don't even have a temp sensor for the CPU, is that just a default temp when Probe can't detect a temp sensor?

btw, I touched the athlon, it's not too hot and definitely not close to 223.

Water boils at 100c. You're not at 223. If you don't have a temp sensor set up, the reading is meaningless.

the sensor is a thermo-resistor. As temp goes up, the resistance of the thermo-resistor decreases. when there's no sensor, the resistance is infinite, meaning that the temp is infinite as well.
