my appliances etc are ganging up on me

Within the last week or two:

My coffeemaker leaks. My microwave turntable stopped going around. My freezer door for some reason doesn't close tightly any more (I duct tape it). And I put some toast in the toaster and sparks came out.

The wipers on my son's car stopped working. My clock radio is getting the time mixed up and no longer wakes me at the correct time.

And then I went to take a shower this morning and the plastic shower knob came off in my hand, in pieces.

Should I call in an appliance exorcist or something?

Yes, go ahead. Use your telephone to call for help. I'm sure the appliance demons won't suspect a thing when you speak your plans directly to them.

For the freezer door, there might be a couple pieces of plastic below the door that are angled to help it to close when it's left open. These last about 10 years. So if your fridge is older than that, it might need to have them replaced, or you could stick a thick hard plastic washer in there to just lift it up and allow it to close.

If both wipers stopped working it's probably a bad fuse.

Gremlins would explain the rest.
