Install took about 4.5 hours from an Antec Sonata to this thing. Sheesh---wasn't easy but well worth it. I have since removed the drive trays from the center HDD rack to allow better airflow.

The wiring job was going great up until I added my SATA drives. Then the "wheels came off" so to speak and now it just turned into a mediocre wiring job.

Here are my specs:

Asus P5WD2 Premium
Pentium 4 840 3.2 Extreme Edition
2GB Kingston HyperX DDR2 PC5400
BFG 7800GTX OC
2 x Plextor PX-716a DVD Burner
1 x 300GB Maxtor DM10 16MB cache SATA
1 x 300GB Seagate
2 x Hitachi 400GB
SB X-Fi XtremeMusic
Onboard 10/100/1000 NIC

Enjoy--

Agreed. I was trying to "copy and paste" from another forum where those links DO work, but as you can see I was unsuccessful. If a mod could please help me out that would be great.

Thanks.

Nice job, my P180 is in the mail. I'll have pics up asap. Btw, where did you get those clips that stick to surfaces? You have a couple in those pics there, pm me or something thanks.

Those clips come with the P180. You get 2 of them. The other one is behind the upper drive cage.

Thanks for the compliment.

Yes, but I made 1 modification. The ATX12v supply line would have easily reached from the PSU location to the ATX supply socket if I ran it under the mobo or ran it across the top of the mobo underneath the PCI/PCIe cards. But....I opted to run it a bit more stealth-like. I purchased a 6" 4pin to 8pin converter since my mobo can accept either 4pin or 8pin and I routed the wire up the side of the case nearest the I/O port.

Burner, I'm going to be having a PC P&C in my P180 also, is that the only extension you got? Did everything else work at the length it was? I'm going to be spending quite a bit of time on the cable management when I get everything. If I ran the 4 pin under the mobo it will work? Those clips look useful :D

That was the only extension I got and really, only if you feel uncomfortable about running wires across or underneath do you need to get that extension. I personally do not like to do either, hence the reason why I got the extension. If you run the wires underneath or on top of the board, you will have plenty of slack.

Every cable can reac the farthest point in that case--no worries.

I also wanted to know, hows the noise with the PC P&C in the p180? I've heard both sides, but what do you think?

Here's the link to the one I bought. I got it even though I do not need the 20 - 24 pin adapter since the PSU already has it natively because it is sleeved.

The PCP&C is noisy when it heats up because it is exhausting the hot air, BUT since I have that fan blowing on it now, it makes very little if any noise since it stays cooler.

For $7, who cares :)
I planned on putting an 80x25mm case fan down in the bottom chamber to cool the PSU like you said. What fan are you using? I was planning on this for the bottom chamber. I'm getting one with a LED because my P180 is going to have a window :D

I am using the stock fan that came with the case that was originally in the upper chamber of the case facing the back. I didn't want to use the 120mm x 120mm x 38mm fan that was there because the 120mm x 120mm x 25mm fan that is at the top moves more air.

You cannot fit an 80mm fan there without some sort of mod to mount it. Can you find a 120mm fan that has LEDs on it?

I thought an 80mm fan goes in the bottom chamber? If it's 120 I'll put a Nexus fan down there. No big problems, haven't ordered anything yet.

The only place to put an 80mm fan is in the PCI/PCIe duct system that is included with the case which i did not use.

Yeah, the duct doesn't do anything at all. Guess I'll be putting a Nexus fan down there... thanks burner :D

Actually, the fan in between the HDDs and PSU draws in air from the front through the vent. There is no space for a fan in the front but cool air is drawn in from there. My HDDs temps range from high 20c to low 30c.

I have this case and keep trying to decide whether I should move the HDD to lower chamber ..for me this would be a big hassle..since I have an OCZ Powerstream longer PSU ..so I would need to reroute my cables...I removed the lower chamber fan to fit the PSU and allow cables to pass through the second opening into the upper chamber....

I can reinstall a fan but I wonder whether my Seagate 200gb 7200.8 would be cooler there(heat pulled from them or to blow if I reverse the fan) vs in the upper chamber with a fan blowing on them

My hdd temps range around 35C-38C

Honestly, I wouldn't move your HDDs. I do not think you will achieve lower temps.
