Your ranting needs work.
That said, you can get a pretty solid deck for ~140 that will do mp3/wma as well as CD. If you just want CD, 70-100 will probably do you pretty well.

Honda does it for free...had to do it a couple times on the Accord. They just ask for VIN number I think...

What's the point of disabling the radio? They're going to steal the fvcking thing anyway. That's silly. Maybe I'm late to the party on this one, but still. 😛

So the battery in my Mitsubishi Mirage dies and I have to put a new one in. The radio/cd player has that anti-theft feature where it won't work if you take it out, or take power away from it. So I call up Mitsubishi to see if they can give me the code over the phone since I don't have the card that code is supposed to be on cause I bought the car used. The guy on the phone tells me it'll cost $40. WTF?!? $40 for a 4 digit number... fvck that. I'll get a new fvcking radio. Sons o' bitches!
Damn, that sucks. But this is AT, there's got to be someone here that knows how to "hack" Mitsubishi car stereos... no? It's probably in an EEPROM somewhere, either discrete, or in the microcontroller. There's probably a way to re-flash it or bypass it, or even to jack into the panel inputs and just write some code to speed-enter the codes, to find out which one works.

I admit, this was an eye-opener to me, I didn't realise that factory automotive stereos had built-in hardware DRM-like features. DRM is everywhere. :|
