is this acceptable? How high is it consider danger?

I am using Alpha Pal35 and I notice 4 pads on the AMD CPU, should I remove it?

I understand that some guys ever toast their CPU before.

I am using AMD 1GZ.

Thanks.

What motherboard are you using, and what bios version? Also, what temp reading program, and what is your MB/system temp?

Your temps are fine... AMD chips, die temp, is rated to 90C(95C for 1.1/1.2ghz chips). Only problem is, on most boards you don't measure die temp. :(

50Degree reading is the backside-PCB temp, plus Asus' Compensation. to get die temp either do the heatsink-drilled thermocouple method, or a thermistor that contacts core edge method.

But your reading temps are in-line with other Asus boards(the only ones you can even remotely consider comparing your temps too) and are perfectly fine.
