I know it wasn't the best. By "interesting" I meant that its weird that the BIOS says 4.4GHz. But I still think its a good OC for stock voltage, stock cooling, and low voltage on the ram. Oh yea...I am now posting this message from 2.8GHz...so its stable now 🙂.

Only if you ran memtest 24hours, ran prime for 24hours, and it never locks up or gives errors. 😀

Problem is, most of the guys at XS with their uber Intel and AMD overclocks cannot say that....Yet we still listen to their interestng stories...If it can last long anough to run 20-30 second benches they are pretty stoked!!!

I just used Super PI for about 30 mins in Windows. Can't use those other DOS apps because I'm overclocking from Windows. Stupid ASUS won't allow anything higher than 1.95V for the ram in BIOS, but in their overclocking program you can go up to 2.5V...O_O

LOL you have the exact same OC that I used to have (well, bit more voltage on your part)...but I toned it down a bit just to be sure, even tho at 2.7 GHz it was 11+ hrs Prime stable.

I'm not sure about 4.4 GHz...that seems far fetched as the world record for Athlon 64 OCing was just over 4 GHz from an FX57 on Liquid nitrogen.

Anyway here's a pic of my OC:

EDIT: Ignore the "Athlon X2" misidentification by my older version of CPU-Z 🙂
And I forgot this pic: In linux, CPU VCore at 1.4V, CPUz running under Wine

Cool! I'm able to go through 30 mins of super PI at 2.8. Now I'm just praying that ASUS releases a new BIOS so I can pump the juice up on the CPU and RAM.

IMO if you can't use it 24/7 in the clock you have set then it's not worth even reading about. I don't care if you can run the FEAR test and record the fps before it crashes...if it crashed it's crap lol

IM5YO 4400 MHz Clock is just complete nonsense. Maybe it's the CPU's calculated type number that the BIOS incorrectly displays - give a photo also for the HT clock and multiplier settings. Even 3500 MHz is unbelievable.
As we know so far, Photoshop is capable for fantastic miracles ...

Asus NF4 boards are reknowned for this miscalculation, happens alot when rebooting after a failed overclock. I saw 5.7ghz:shocked: on my A8N-SLI deluxe. It sometimes even carries through a window boot, about a year ago some dude actually got a verified CPU-Z shot at 5.9ghz and sat atop the CPU-Z hall of fame for an hour or so until they fiqured it out and pulled it.

Damn! That's one hell of a nice OC! Good job!

Cool, man. But I suspect that if you buy a better cooler you should be able to get better results. Not to mention up the vcore a little...and lower the mem ratio.

AMD's cpu are really bad at overclocking. and are all memory timing whore

OMG you should be banned for trolling. If that ain't bait I don't know what is!
That moron who says AMD is not a good overclocker, should at least know that 20 minutes of prime aint considered stable, and should check every etailer and find out that AMD CPU's are the most popular and mostly sold.

my am2 and asus m2n-e is 2.87ghz prime&memtest 24h stable and goes to bios at 3.4ghz but now i need vcore mod becouse bios sucks.cpu-z is monitoring 1.472v in bios is 1.56+50Mv=1.62v.im not happy with this processor, becouse i was expecting 3.0ghz click here and here thats my best

Yes ask a retailer OChungry, AMD are the most sold. That is why they can barely hold a 1/5 marketshare even in the enthusiast market, which although you don't want to blieve it. The core2duo is killing them in. Sucks for AMD when you can get a 1.86 ghz processor that is faster than their 3.0 ghz 175w, 800$ beast, that is binned by hand.

misleading FUD....

What you mean is that potentially you can get a 1.86ghz E6300 oc'd to higher then a more expensive AMD chip....careful how you word it, and realize that ocers are a very very small portion of ppl who buy chips...so it doesn't mean much...

1/5 of market share with probably 1/10 of manufacturing capacity (guesstimate. Accurate # would be appreciated) is quite respectable.
