My adata s599 just died

Well I've only had it for three months and today without any warning it just died. I ended up going to compusa and getting a ocz agility 2. Needless to say I'm not happy about it and now I suppose going through adata will be like pulling hens teeth. I'll keep you guys posted about how adata handles the rma.

Well the bad news is that the ADATA drive probably experienced a controller panic, which is what locked the drive and made it unusable. This seems to be a relatively common problem with the SandForce controller and is not really an issue with ADATA or their quality control. This also means your SandForce based Agility 2 is probably just as susceptible to failing on you in exactly the same way.

Hopefully the RMA to ADATA goes smoothly, though.

Well adata supplied the rma info after I submitted a request form via email, reminds me of his's rma process, and the drive is on its way back for repair/replacement. If I have trouble out of the vertex I'm going to get an intel ssd. I suppose when the adata comes back I could put it in my notebook. I also wanted to say that the ocz drive is exactly the same as the adata except for the stickers.

Well 3 weeks later I receive a new ssd from adata so I haven't done anything with it yet. I suppose that I just can't bring myself to trust it just yet.
