My Adaptec 2940UW SCISI Controller crapped out! What cheaper alternatives are there?

I'm in need of a new SCSI controller card as my Adaptec has crapped out. What alternatives are there, as I don't want to the expense of another overpriced Adaptec.

What else is available and are they as fast. I suppose I want a minimum of 40mb/sec but would prefer 80mb/sec. I like the sound of the Adaptec Ultra160 SCSI by adaptec but is there another manufacturer that make controllers that are as good.

What SCSI cards are you guyz using?

I've not really seen many scsi card reviews on the web (& tekram does'nt seem to get any coverage in the UK press), but if you head over to the forums at Storage Review you'll hear a lot of good things about the cards, & I tend to think the people there know what they're talking about.
