This is extremely odd... windows 98 detected it correctly and I was using the correct Actiontec drivers, but after the WinME install the drivers are all messed up. Right now I'm using whatever drivers were off the winME cd and it shows as a "Lucent Win Modem" This is what it shows if I bring up more info:
LT v.90 Data+Fax+Voice Modem Version 5.79

5.79 i think is the update to the 5.75 LT "firmware" for the LT winmodems. Not only will the drivers not update to the correct one's in winme, but the extremely odd thing is shows that it is using the lucent winmodem firmware and this modem doesn't even use firmware. The Mars chipset (not the Venus used by the newer Call Waiting hardware modems) used by my PCI pro cannot be updated through firmware, and here it is using some LT winmodem firmware.

This is extremely odd, but I can't really complain since the speeds seem marginally faster... actually just the connect speeds are faster, and my d/ls seem slower. In windows 98 it was extremely slow until I totally tweaked it out and I saw a jump from an average d/l speed of 3.5k/sec up to 5.2/sec. Now I'm getting about 4.4k/sec with the wrong drivers/firmware. I figure since I can't get it to work with the correct one's I might as well live with it and tweak it as an LT winmodem... Perhaps then It'll be running like a champ; any suggestions?

I use an lt winmodem and my bro uses the actiontec call waiting modem in WinME. Both modems are almost equal in pings(Mine is a bit better, whether its the os or the modem who knows) and speed but the actiontec of course has call waiting.

He uses the actiontec firmware in WinME and it works fine. if the LT drivers work go ahead and use them! 5.70 works best for me. Dont use 5.84 from ibm they sucked.
