My acer aspire 7551- 7422 keeps shutting down. I have done the following and still it keeps doing it.

1. I have d loaded speed fan and hw Monitor to show if its over heating all is good.

2. I have run check disk nothing came uo also ran ccleaner , defragment,Avg,Malware nothing came up

3. I have deleted all video drivers and reloaded them and t still does it.

4. I have had a computer guy out and he said i needs a new video card which is intergrated with mother board which means a new motherboard and its to expensive to fix.

5. I have d loaded updated bios and it still does it.

Does anyone else have anymore ideas ?? this computer I bought refurbished in Jan. of this yr and really cannot afford to not be with out it.

I find it hard to believe that the GPU is causing it to shut down. I don't know what else it could be, though, outside of a power/battery issue.

When it does shut down, is it shutting down properly or instantly?

I see no way the "computer guy" could diagnose the GPU without being a lot more specific as to the exact cause of the problem. Seems like BS to me TBH.

answering this....

is your next step

I guess its not shutting down but the screen goes blank the computer is still on but a blank screen is all you see. The only way you can get the computer back up is to hold power button and turn it off then turn it back on.

Sometimes when the backlight or inverter starts to fail, it exhibits the symptoms you have describe.
