My computer after I set Bios, will lose all info. It keeps saying on the american megatrends logo "CMOS checksum Bad, Press F1 to run Setup, Press F2 to load default values and continue". Do I need to flash it again?

Sounds like you need to reflash the bios. And also sounds like you might have a dead CMOS battery (they are cheap, at radioshack or walmart)

I would change the battery, then reflash the bios with the latest version. If that doesn't fix it then you may have a problem with the mobo.

THE most common CMOS/BIOS battery is a CR2032 99% of modern motherboards use them.

all I have to do is change the battery? The computer says bios is not installed, but in the windows environment and on startup it says I have 1010 beta. I updated with asus update via internet. Ill try the battery thing right now though. also after i save changes and exit bios the screen goes off. Corrupt Bios?

No, it probably won't fix you problem. I have seen this before on many types of computers on every thing from compaq to dell and ASUS to INTEL (motheboards). Get a new CR2032 before you flash it.

I changed the battery and it still doesnt save the info. By the way to those who just joined, it says "CMOS checksum bad". Once I exit and save bios, the screen goes off. THe computer will still be running though.
