Hello All,

I just upgraded my cpu to a xp 1.4gb Athlon, from a older 800 TB. I flashed the bios a few days ago and everything went fine. I booted up with the new cpu and everything worked and I was very happy. But...I ran SisoftSandra and saw that the cpu was running @1.06mhz and my fsb was 100 and not 133. I thought this might be the default settings because of the bios flash. So I went and changed the cpu to 144(140) and that auto changed the fsb to 133. I though great, now it'll run as quick as it should.
I hit f10 to save and exit and the whole system froze! I waited forever and nothing. I finally rebooted and I couldn't even get it to post. So....I popped the cmos battery out and grounded the points to reset the cmos and was able to get it running again. But it will only run in the default frequency settings? Shouldn't it be a normal 200 fsb anyway? Or am I getting cpu and memory frequency confused?

Does anyone have any ideas about this? I would be very gratefull for any and all suggestions!

Thank!

Well...I just found out the problem. I have a ASUS A7V133...NOT the 133a!!!! Damn! It's been a few years since I built it and I assumed it was the 133a version. That's what I get for ASSuming! :)
Well at least it works and runs faster that it did! (my glass is half FULL) Thanks to all who read and didn't slam me for being an idiot.
