My 8800GTS benchmarks

I got my 8800GTS on Friday and last night I ran 3dmark 05 and 06. The scores were as follows:

eVGA Geforce 8800GTS@600/1800
11078 3dmarks in 3dmark05
6999 3dmarks in 3dmark06.

Those tests were done with the CPU at stock speed, I didn't think it would make that much of a diffrence, but those 3dmark scores aren't great so I decided to overclock the cpu again back to 2.6GHZ with a small overvolt. My new 3dmark06 score is as follows:

eVGA Geforce 8800GTS@600/1800
8373 3dmarks in 3dmark06.

As you can see, increasing the cpu speed made a pretty nice diffrence. I was running temperature monitoring software in the backround and if I turned them off it probobly would have helped me hit higher scores. I just thought it was interesting that cpu does make a diffrence when you have a video card like this one, so maybe you should keep this in mind if you're looking for a powerful video card. BTW, I highly recommend the 8800GTS.

Well.... the full 3dmark score is very cpu dependent.. so check the sm2 and sm3 scores before and after to see how much of a difference the cpu really makes

A faster CPU will get you a higher 3DMark score. But it will not get you a proportional increase in fps.
