Hopefully that looks ok for a gaming/web design rig on a low budget. I was gonna go with the Epox MB suggested but new egg had a back to school sale on the DFI which is what i intally wanted to begin with, so really couldnt pass it up as it wasnt to much more the the Epox board with the sale. Had to pass on better cpu fan for now and had to change from the OCZ gold edition dual channel kit to the Cosair value select dual channel kit. Thats where i kinda worried about, i know cossair is supposed to be good, but it has mixed reviews at newegg for its OC ability, some say it does fine, others say stay far away from the value select if u plan on OC, soooo gonna take a chance i guess, i wont be OC to much tell i can get a better fan for the cpu anywasy, so maybe by then i can pick up the OCZ then /shrug anywhooo let me know how this looks and be honest and give any kinda critisim or helpful suggestions.

<EDIT> Links should work now! <EDIT>

Thanks corpse, i got the links fixed, and i also checked your link out. Was bascialy same thing is what i have accept for its using the Epox board instead of the DFI. I was gonna go EPOX, but newegg is running a special on the DFI making it only like 12 dollars differnce in price of the EPOX , so in my thinking it would be smarter to grab the DFI at the sale price? /shrug

But yeah try links now pleae everybody and let me know what you think.

I really hated gving up the OZC gold edition 3200 1 gig(512 mathced pair dual channel kit) but in order to keep cost with shipping to 800 or very close above or below i had to make some cuts somehow. From what ive been reading the value selct by cossair is top notch , but unfrountly has mixed reviews on OC and some hav e said it doesnt play well with the DFI board, but then again others say it OC just fine and works well with DFI boards. OMG im so confused , so i hope the 2 will play nice toghter,, if anybody has any peronal exsperince with DFI ultra lanparty board and the value select cossair dual channel 1gig kit, please feel free to throw your input, suggestion, etc on here.

don't bother with the corsair vs on a dfi nf4 board. some get it to work but it will clock like crap and will likely give you more headaches than you'd like.

shop elswhere to get the shipping cost down and get some decent ram.

edit- i just noticed you have the modstream. there ya go, scrap that and get the fortron 500 or something.

if you're set on having modular, than look at monarch, i think they have better pricing and maybe some current rebates on the modstreams.

editedit- whats with the 700xt? that thing will be outclassed in no time, well it is pretty much now.

anyway, take a look at e-wiz, m-wave, monarch, zzf et al and see if you can shave some $$$ off by shopping around. ewiz has been running the 3000+ for ~120 lately. the psu is overpriced, you can get deivered case prices from zzf etc.

i know it stinks having to buy from multiple places but its worth the effort.

if its a gaming rig, get a better card definitely.

Gotta go with rise on this about the PSU and video card. You might want to search the AT forums but I thought people were having problems with the Modstreams. I'd just get a 420W OCZ Powerstream or the Fortron 500. Also, dump the NEC burner and get a Lite-On dual layer instead.

for an 800$ system, thats pretty sweet, and i think some people will tend to forget that. heck, i'm still playing on a 9600XT/AMD2500+Barton...i can play everything fine
only one thing though...for a few bucks, you can probably get at least a 160gig hard drive..even if its ATA, you won't notice the difference once its in;)

ty all for the replys, i was orginally gonna go with the ultra x modualr 500 watt ps but was told to go with the modestream by ozr on aonther forum. And thats what i was affraid of with the cossair memory /shakes head but i cant afford the ozr gold edition like i first priced out :( i also have been cheking with mwave and newegg and tigerdirect. and they all seam to have fairly close prices "not enough differnce to buy form one and then from another" I know only haveing 800 for a budgest is really hampering this, but im trying to do the best with what i have.

i no for sure i have to stick with the x700 pro 256 or 128 or if you guys think a nvidia version of equvilant would be better let me know which ones to check out. I also am almost positive i want to stay with the dfi lanparty, esepcially since atm its only 12 dollars more then the epox ultra which was my other choice for saving money. i wish i could find a way to get the ozc ram over the cossair so i wont have the issues with the lanparty but not sure where elee i can cut. anywhoo keep up the comments and suggestions there all welcome and will all be taken into condideration!

I will look into other PS like mentiond above see if i can find somethign cheaper. and yes i do want to stick to modular if at all possible. How are the Ultra x connects? i was told on another forum that they are to new to be realiable yet even though they have been getting good reviews? that would save me some there as there only 79, almsot enougth to get the ozc ram.

all from the egg-

nec burner- 47
case- 27
80 gb hdd- 53
mobo- 125
x800- 175
psu 54
gig o cl2 ram- 113
3000+- 146
+frt- 40
=775 minus $20 MIR. add a floppy for 10-12$

or get the cpu/mobo/ram and games here-
mobo/cpu/ram - 390

i know the case ain't the prettiest but its actually pretty good (see my system for sale in sig for pics) the psu isn't modular but its a pretty good psu. plus you still have ~25 to play with so get the modstream if you want. i just can't in good faith recommend a modular psu :p

I know what is being said on these forums about how fortron is good PSU....

But on other forums Fortron is well Fortron....

There are many good PSU`s out there and you don`t need anything close to 500watts to power the set up that your looking at getting!!

Shop around......
Fortron is NOT the ONLY name in PSU`s.......duh

yeah i think im gonna stick with either the ozc modestream 450 watt. From what ive read the ocz are quite retabule. Might go with newcomeer ultra x-connect, theve got some good reveiws as of lately to. can get a 500 watt for 79 at newegg. Havent looked into the ernmaxs much, might check those out. what about Thermaltakes PSU's? how do they stand up, there not modualr like i was looking for but if need be i can give that nice featuer up.

oh and on a side note i picked up a little more extra cash so gonna go with teh Ozc gold edition dueal channel kit over the cossair value select so i dont have as many issues with my DFI board.
