Well, I got one of the "defective" units. The wiring was done wrong. Everything else seems good though ( I re-did the wiring)
First thing I noticed was that there were enough RAMSink pads for a 7800 GTX 512mb
. I took off the extras from the heatsink and put them on the BACK memory chips instead of the paper stickies in hopes of better cooling. They seem to work fine.
Idle temp is currently 41C, soont to test load. I assume temps will go down after some burn in of the thermal pads/paste as well.
Installation was easy as pie except for the wiring.
