My 6400 Dual channel ram is posting as 533 on the Abit IB9

Just bought a new board/cpu/ram combo

E6600
2GB kit of patriot 6400
and the Abit IB9

got everything running great except the ram is only showing up as 533 mhz

any ideas? got the spd setup as auto (im not too familar with cl timings and what should be what )

your CPU is 266.7 fsb (quad-pumped for 1066) so x2 for DDR= 533.
Try by SPD (although make sure that you have the RAM voltage set at what Patriot recommend for 6400 operation before that as it probably needs more than at 4200) or failing that set manually.
