My 4800+ still locks up after a while running SOB as an install with 2 instances.

It runs ok on core 1 with core 2 stopped.

When I first installed SOB I installed it like you would for a single core CPU.

XP task manager showed the 2 cores sharing the work, actually core 1 was at 50%, core 2 was at 65%.

I can keep it like it is and just keep #2 stopped.

Or run SOB using the exe and split the load.

I want to make sure I get credit for the work.

I noticed on programs that dont take advantage of dual cores # 2 core runs more % than # 1 core in XP task manager.

Anyone have any idea why core # 2 runs hotter ??

Are the cores stacked on top of each other maybe ??

Thanks.

Richard.

Is there a problem with your cooling?

You can just uninstall the service & then just run 1 instance like normal. Possibly you can also force the service to run only 1 instance but i'm not exactly sure on that.
Anyway, since you started processing 2 tests, switching to 1 instance will finish one of the tests but i'm not sure if it will pick up on the 2nd test after the 1st one finishes. If it doesn't you could probably use the "lost test fix" to finish that one up.

I have a 92 mm 39 CFM fan on the side of the case blowing in to the PC, when you turn it on you can feel more air come out of the back of the power supply.

Core 1 idle 19
core 2 idle 32
AUX 40

Core 1 25 SOB
core 2 36
AUX 50

Core 1 30
core 2 52 SOB
AUX 48

Core 1 36 SOB
core 2 54 SOB
AUX 57

AUX is the power supply ??

This with Everest

MOBO, CPU and MCP temps stay the same.

I have an Artic cooling A64 cooler that has been lapped.

Look at the temps on core 2 ???

Are you overclocked? Does this happen running SoB on two instances at stock clock speeds? If so, then something is defective, IMHO.
