I've been able to run superpi 32m @ 2.8, prime going now

Idle temps at 33c load at 44c

My question is, in games objects in the distance kind of jitter into view instead of coming in smoothly. My fps stay at a constant 60 however (yes I use vsync) I've tried the x2 driver and the /usepmtimer line in my boot ini and neither really help. Since this didn't happen with my 3700+ I assume its a x2 issue. Any help would be appreciated =)

Wait...where is Mickey21??? Another guy above the 10-15% he says is the max ppl are getting on X2's....And he did it with a reasonable amount of vcore...Watercooled ofcourse but Mickey made no distinguishment about that .....

have you specifically gone into task manager and switch cpu affinity to just one of the 2 cpus???

May want to try some of the latest nvidia drivers (betas) rumored to be multithreaded to see if it helps...I saw some jitter in one game and the affinity thing cleared it right up...I dont game enough to piss me off about doing it every time, but I can see how some might...

I still think AMD is not the lone culprit here...rumors are Intel P-D's are having similar issues...it could be microsuck and their crappy thread scheduler...It could be software drivers....

I get an error whenever I try to set the affinity with WoW =( I'll try with some other games tho and see if it helps. Usage in wow is generally 30-50% per core. I'll try some of the 80 series drivers if that doesn't help. Thanks

Do you have warcraft3 ? does it happen there ? That the only game I have actually played on my X2, as it is primarily a work box with just a 9600pro. I wonder if its an ATI vs Nvidia thing ....

Mark put that info in my thread I just started...it is good info....

As well as you Xed with your WoW issues...

I have wc3 somewhere, I'll install it later when I find the cd's and see =)

My overall framerate is better with the x2, if I could just get things to load in smoothly I'd be one happy camper, everything else is improved =)

i have wc3

yes it "fast forwards"

you need to set affinity

either do it with a program or do it within the first couple seconds of clicking on launching it in task manager as soon as it appears, otherwise its too late

after it launches, you'll get an access violation error

I've been sticking to EQ and BF2 mostly and haven't had a chance to play any other games recently. But, BF2 works with no problems what so ever.

EQ has a problem with multi core processors. You can work around it by:
1. Start EQ Patcher
2. Bring up task manager (Before hitting the play button)
3. find the process and set the affinity to one of the two CPU's (either is fine)
4. Continue Hit Play on the EQ patcher and you are fine for the rest of the session.

from this thread...

http://forums.anandtech.com/messageview...atid=28&threadid=1642871&enterthread=y

seems to have no issues...wonder what he knows that you dont....

"I have issues with EQ as well but also with my 6XX series P4. I play that game and only that game with HT turned off on my INTEL and the 2nd CPU turned off on my X2. I cannot explain it but it just plays smoother. Too bad as I was hoping it would help the overall sluggishness that is EQ."

from a guy in same thread....

"software issues. They want to use the x2, but probably are trying to address it with coding that was written specifically for Hyperthreading and as such are causing glitches. A game patch should fix it. Or even a platform driver patch could work around it (but it wouldn't be as good a option as a game patch."

same thread...then this again....

" i only play halo and BF2.. i have not experienced any problems like this. I'm using ForceWare 77.72 "

" HL2, BF2, GTA all work fine for me."

" I haven't crashed once in any game I've tried: HL2, BF2, WW2online, Highway to the Reich, FarCry, and Hearts of Iron 2.

I play BF2 at 1920x1200 with all the eye candy turned up, and it never has any issues at all after hours and hours of play. As I said, my comp has NEVER CRASHED - not even once!"

Looks like I have my facts straight....

Oh and there was someone who said the P-D's are not having problems, but he also says no INtel chip is having issues and that papears to be incorrect based on the above thread...

Well if he was a fan of the Jayhawks (KU) he probably wouldn't be such a moron....I wonder who he has the fatty for..the big 300lb lineman??? or the 6-10" basketball players...
