My 3DMark2001 SE score is too low for my system...

or so it seems.

My computer specs:

ASUS A7N8X Deluxe
AMD Athlon 2500+ (OC'ed to 3000+)
512 MB DDR3200 RAM (Kingston HyperX)
Gainward Geforce4 Ti4200 128 MB

I've been reading posts and reviews by other users that seems to have the same system specifications as me, but their benchmark scores were through the roof. Mine is only a measely 5965. I have all the latest drivers installed. Is there any way I can boost it? Also, is it the video card that is a bottleneck for my system?

the video card is the bottleneck, you may want to overclock it

as for the score, make sure that FSAA and AA are off and the video card is PERFORMANCE mode rather than QUALITY

Wow, thank you for the tip. I never even thought of that. I ran 3DMark again and now my score is 12619.
