I have an ASUS HD4850 (not overclocked), a Q6600 at default speeds (2.4ghz), and 4 gigs of DDR2-1066 GSkill RAM that's currently running at DDR2-800 speeds. When I ran 3dmark06, I got 11,815 points. Maybe I'm just unfamiliar with the program, but this seems a bit too low to me. Is something wrong with me or my system?

same thing i found with 4850's... they don't get amazing 3d06 scores... 8800gt gets higher score on 3d06 in same config... but the 4850 kills it in real games...

Sounds about right, actually. Try using ORB's comparing function, see how your system stacks up to others. I just did a quick search for results based on C2Q with mhz range of 2399-2401 using 4850s. Highest score was 12841.

When I OC'd my Q6600 @ 3.0 with a 3870, my score was 12027 in 3d mark so, I think since you have run at stock speeds, seems to be pretty good. Here is a screenie of my Q6600 at that time.

My Q6600 @ 3.4 got 15,368 when paired with my 9800GTX. my E8400 @ 4.0 got 14,969 with the same card, although i think i had the card OC'd a little higher when i ran 3dmark with the 8400.

i remember before i OC'd the Q6600, i ran somewhere around 11,500 with an 8800GT.

3D Mark is completely CPU bound with a card like that.

Overclock that CPU to 3.0GHz or so and your 3D Mark score will almost raise linearly with the CPU clock.
